I'm Chris, the owner of Durin's Workshop. Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a look. I know the names don't quite match up but thats okay. I live in Illinois and have been woodworking since 2016. I enjoy the work and challenge of creating custom pieces for people. The process of designing and building pieces to finally delivering a completed project is one of the greatest feelings. I am always on the hunt to learn more and I hope to share what I know with others in the future.
My family has always been very handy and the mentality of trying to do something yourself the first time around has been deeply implanted in me. My grandfathers helped me discover that I have an affinity for working with my hands and when I was offered a job doing light carpentry work, it seemed like a good place to start. I began as a closet installer in the Chicagoland area building storage areas for a wide range of clients. I have been all over building out closets, cabinets and garages in my time with the company. I then found my way into woodworking. What started out as a passiing interest has grown into a full hobby and I have spent countless hours researching the subject.
